About Us
The family home and farm on Kaikōura Peninsula has been in the family for 5 generations. Our family have been lucky enough to enjoy what “The Point” has to offer. It’s a special place to us and we can’t wait to share that with you. We offer a true back to basic camping experience for self contained motorhomes, campervans and caravans. We also have Bed & Breakfast accommodation available in the homestead, with two beautiful queen rooms to choose from.
When you stay with us at “The Point Campsite” you are bound to run into some of the family. We all love spending time at the family home...so please say hello when you are here.
Meet Your Hosts...
This is Peter or Pat, known as both. You will find him around the house, farm or campsite. He’s a jack of all trades - rubbish truck driver by morning, hobby sheep shearer by afternoon. But if you can’t find him anywhere around the house, shearing shed or campsite he will most likely be at golf, watching horses race or entertaining the 6 grandkids.
I’m Sarah, Pats oldest daughter. I basically do all stuff that he can’t do. I’m the one doing all the posts, replying to emails, making bookings etc. My sister and I loved growing up at “The Point”, we spent our childhood years riding motor bikes and horses, sliding down the hills, tailing lambs, playing at the beach and exploring the farm.
The Point Campsite is a great place for kids too. This is one of the youngest members of our family. There's lots of fun things to do in and around Kaikōura...like playing on the beach or exploring the forest and river beds...and the Point is a great place to stay with your family.
Get up close to our Drysdale Ram “Ram-Man” and let him eat out of the palm of your hand.
Between August and January you will get the opportunity to hold and feed one of our pet lambs. Our lambs are popular with everyone who visits, they know they will get a bottle of milk and lots of attention from our visitors!
